The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is seeking an Environmental Project Planner II/III – Historical Studies to join our Environmental Affairs Division in Austin. This position offers a unique opportunity to help deliver transportation projects that connect communities while protecting Texas’ historic places and cultural heritage. In this role, you will evaluate potential impacts to historic resources, coordinate environmental compliance efforts, collaborate with engineers and planners, and work with regulatory agencies, consulting partners, stakeholders, and the public to develop solutions that balance infrastructure needs with preservation goals.

Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in History, Architectural History, Public History, American Studies, or related field. Experience in cultural resource environmental, planning, project management or other related fields may be substituted for education on a year per year basis.
Experience:
Environmental Project Planner II
3 years of experience in cultural resource environmental, planning, project management or other relevant experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Environmental Project Planner III
5 years of experience in cultural resource environmental, planning, project management or other relevant experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent) Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Other Conditions
Must meet Secretary of Interior’s Code of Federal Regulations, 36 CFR Part 61 requirements
